Important Update - October 2026
Ciao a tutti,
Just a little update on the Lucca wedding front from Robert and me.
The cost to stay at L’arancera Di Villa Grabau with us will be £300 per person. This will include a 3 night stay within a villa, which includes en-suite bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. We are working out allocation of people to put them with familiar people between different villas.
The cost will include all food and drink for the 3 days on site with us. We will be providing food in the villas for breakfast and lunches. Although as the villas have their own kitchens you are more than welcome to bring your own particular food/drinks/snacks to keep in your kitchens. There are supermarkets a short drive away.
The plans for the wedding so far: (our Italian wedding planner is very relaxed so nothing is set in stone)
Tuesday evening: Pizza/pasta party
Wednesday: Wedding day
Thursday: Pool Party and brunch
Friday morning: Time to say goodbye
Obviously you do not have to stay at L’arancera with us, but we would love it if everyone did! It would be great if we could have the money for this sent by the end of March 2027.

About the wedding
The wedding will take place at L'Arancera di Villa Grabau. The villa has 5 apartments which we have arranged for everyone to stay onsite in for the 3 nights, or people can stay off site if they wish. We will be in touch about prices for staying (sorry).
Return to this site at a later date for more information on what the 3 days look like. However, so far the rough plan looks like this:
Tuesday 1st June: Check in and Welcome party.
Wednesday 2nd June: Abi and Rob get married!
Thursday 3rd June: Pool chill out day and recovery.
Friday 4th June: Check out.
About Lucca
Just a 10-minute drive from our wedding venue sits the beautiful Tuscan town of Lucca - a hidden gem wrapped inside a perfectly preserved 5-kilometre ring of Renaissance-era walls. Inside those walls you’ll find cobbled streets, charming piazzas, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes wandering feel like a mini holiday in itself.
We highly recommend staying a night before or after the wedding to soak up the town’s character, enjoy a leisurely aperitivo, and explore at your own pace. And for the runners among you… Lucca even has its very own parkrun!
How to get there
Flights
The closest airport to the wedding venue is Pisa International Airport, about a 40-minute drive to Lucca. There are convenient EasyJet flights from Bristol, Birmingham, Gatwick, and Heathrow.
Alternatively, you can fly into Florence Airport, which is roughly a 55-minute drive from the venue, with flights available from Gatwick and Heathrow.
Public Transport
Travelling by public transport is straightforward and scenic.
From Pisa Airport, take the PisaMover shuttle into central Pisa, then hop on a regional train to Lucca - the journey takes about 30 minutes, with departures roughly every half hour.
If arriving via Florence, regular trains also connect the city centre to Lucca.
Once in Lucca, a taxi ride to the venue takes around 15 minutes.
There’s also a smaller station closer to the venue - Ponte a Moriano railway station - about a 30-minute walk away. It’s just a 5-minute drive from the venue, so lift arrangements may be possible if needed.
